Slice of Life - week 2
You are more than welcome to submit your Slice of Life story on any or all of the following prompts even though they are from a past week post. As a writer, I know I do my best writing when I write about a prompt that “gets to me” instead of forcing a write on a specific prompt during a specific time frame. Slice of Life choices for the week of March 30, 2008 were:
1. Family Nicknames.
2. Birth of your child.
3. Slumber party.
Once you have posted your Slice of Life Sunday story on your blog, come back and leave a comment with the url to your post. My true desire is for each of us to harvest wisdom from both the joy of reliving the good memories in our lives and the strength gained from gleening what we can from the not-so-good memories and then putting them away for good. If you see a previous prompt you would like to write about, please do so and let me know.
Wisdom is the daughter of experience. ~ Leonardo da Vinci

Hello! I’m having so much fun
I know I don’t have to do all three but I just can’t help myself!

~~ Hi Jenn, So nice to see you visit again. I enjoyed reading your entries, and I have them entered into the Pie Safe. I too remember watching scarry movies with a friend over - just too much fun! And I can definitely relate to your birthing experiences. I find it amazing how easily we forget the horror of the pain at the first moment’s sight of the precious gift. Cricket

Thank you so much for the invitation to participate!! I had no difficulty choosing my theme — it wrote itself!!

~~ Hi Sherry, Thank you for submitting a wonderful childhood story. What would a slumber party be without pizza and banana splits topped off with a little sweet revenge! This was fun to read. Cricket

~~Hi Morgan, I could feel your pain as I read your story. Isn’t it amazing no matter how much pain and sacrifice went through bearing our first child, we still had another. I still say it is a good thing women bear children, men would definitely stop with one! Cricket

Hi Cricket! Well, I have joined the slice movement. This was really a lot of fun remembering, and writing it down. Thanks for hosting!

~~ Thank you so much Mo. I loved reading your story and kept thinking about Mindy the whole time. You gave such a very real description of childbirth in the early 70’s. It is nice to know some things do change for the good! Cricket

Hi, thanks for visiting my blog! I like this idea very much and probably will end up doing all three choices in each prompt eventually, lol. I didn’t realize we’re on week three already! I just posted for week 2. I used the codes but I notice the pictures aren’t showing up
~~Hi Irishcoda - or should I say Cassie-May, I enjoyed reading about your uncle, what a beautiful tribute to him. I am sorry the badges didn’t work. Did you click on the tiny writing below the pictures stating the code was there? I have all the codes posted there and you just select the one you wnat to use. I hope this works for you. Cricket

Hi, I have another one up on my photo blog…it turns out that when I copied and pasted the graphics my computer added an extra set of quotes and that’s why the pictures wouldn’t show. So now I know what to look for when Iput them on my new post
~~Hi Again, I am so happy you have written two stories in a matter of 2 days! Words can never express my gatitude. I am so pleased I have so many writers so soon! Cricket
