Slice of Life - week 3

You are more than welcome to submit your Slice of Life story on any or all of the following prompts even though they are from a past week post. As a writer, I know I do my best writing when I write about a prompt that “gets to me” instead of forcing a write on a specific prompt during a specific time frame.

Slice of Life choices for the week of April 6, 2008 were:

1. Meeting your best friend.

2. Illness of your child.

3. Family reunion.

Once you have posted your Slice of Life Sunday story on your blog, come back and leave a comment with the url to your post. My true desire is for each of us to harvest wisdom from both the joy of reliving the good memories in our lives and the strength gained from gleening what we can from the not-so-good memories and then putting them away for good. If you see a previous prompt you would like to write about, please do so and let me know.

Wisdom is the daughter of experience. ~ Leonardo da Vinci

~~ Good Morning Jen, I do appreciate you continued support in this project. I too am excited to getting more participants. I guess it takes time to build a following. And as they say… Rome wasn’t built in a day… of course my response is, I don’t want to build a city, just write a book. Maybe God wants me to learn patience through this project. LOL Cricket

  2. Phyl Says:

Mine is up. And…ummm…although this slice of my life takes some turns, he truly is my best friend~

    Hugs…Phyl

~~ What a tease you are! This was so good - such a cliff hanger - I can hardly wait to hear the rest of the story. Cricket

  3. Danielle Says Hello Says:

Here is the link to my contribution:

    Slice of Life Sunday

BTW….have you thought about using a Mr. Linky for the links??

~~ Hi Danielle, Thank you for such a touching slice of life. And yes, I have used Mr Linky on Cricket’s Hearth for Thursday Thirteen but it is not the regular one that so many blogs not hosted by wordpress use. However, I do plan to use it next week with a few instructions so bloggers don’t miss seeing what it is. Thanks again. Cricket

~~ Hi Tanya, I am so happy you stumbled upon me. I am still laughing about your story. I do not want to say too much about it because I do not want to spoil it for others. I will say, everyone go check this out! As a sidenote, I love your header - such a true statement. Cricket

  5. Sherry Says:

I’m “late” this week posting my slice of life — I wasn’t home on Sunday, so here it is on Monday!

    http://thejournalsofthemeanderingmuse.blogspot.com/2008/04/meeting-my-best-friend.html

~~Hi Sherry, Actually you are not late. You have all week if you want, or may even go back and pick up a previous prompt. I have very few rules here. I loved the picture with your slice of life. And you advice was right on the money. Isn’t it a shame more young girls do not understand this? Their teenage years would be so much more fun. Cricket

  6. Betty Says:

My slice of life post is up. I wrote about how I met my best friend. I think it’s interesting. I hope you do, too.

~~ Hi Betty, Your story was amazing, such a small world we live in, we just don’t realize it! Thank you so much for joining in this week. I have your slice of life in the Pie Safe for safe keeping. Cricket

~~ Hi Val, And welcome! I am happy to see my time was not wasted signing up for that meme listing. And thank you for such a sweet slice of life. How wonderful it must be to have your husband as a best friend! Cricket

~~ Hi Mo, And what a wonderful slice it is! I couldn’t help remembering so many details of different events you and I have shared as I read your slice of life. What a beautiful tribute to Cindy and to friendship. Cricket

  9. Cricket Says:

I am finally getting my slices of life posted on Cricket’s Hearth! I posted a family reunion story a day or so ago and this morning I woke up early and was inspired to write about the birth of my daughter.

  10. Irishcoda Says:

Hi, my slice of life this time is about my best friend!

~~Hi Irishcoda, I enjoyed reading about your friend. I too have friends from high school I rarely see anymore but back then we were inseparatable. Life can be strange. Cricket
