Slice of Life - week 4
You are more than welcome to submit your Slice of Life story on any or all of the following prompts even though they are from a past week post. As a writer, I know I do my best writing when I write about a prompt that “gets to me” instead of forcing a write on a specific prompt during a specific time frame.
Slice of Life choices for the week of April 13, 2008 were:
1. A Forbidden Love.
2. Meeting your In-laws.
3. Blind Date/One Night Stand.
Once you have posted your Slice of Life Sunday story on your blog, come back and leave a comment with the url to your post. My true desire is for each of us to harvest wisdom from both the joy of reliving the good memories in our lives and the strength gained from gleening what we can from the not-so-good memories and then putting them away for good. If you see a previous prompt you would like to write about, please do so and let me know.
Wisdom is the daughter of experience. ~ Leonardo da Vinci

Is it ok that it’s not yet Sunday, but I’ve already posted my entry? I chose the story of my one and only One Night Stand. Before visiting my blog, please understand that the language I use is expressive of the situation. If you are easily offended, you may want to skip this week’s slice. It is quite lengthy, so I split it in half.

Thanks!! - Val
~~ Hi Val, This was quite an interesting experience for an 18 year old! The language is a little more expressive than I have received on here as of yet, but is acceptable given the context of the story. Thank you for the advanced notice for our readers. They can make an informed choice as whether to read or not. I will place a similar note in the Pie Safe as well. Cricket

I have a two for one story today - I actually wrote this several weeks ago for the prompt of Passion at Sunday Scribblings, but it fits so well for both of the prompts this week at Writer’s Island (Chance Encounter and Flight) and also for Blind Date/One Night Stand.

My Slice of Life Sunday is up. I chose to write about Blind Date/One Night Stand. I did the Blind Date part of this.
~~ Hi Betty, What a wonderful and inspiring story! You give me hope! Cricket

Cricket, this is just too much fun.
Thanks for the writing prompts. They get me thinking about things I’m sure I’d never write about otherwise…
Hope you enjoy.
I sure enjoyed my trip down memory lane…

~~Hi Tanya, I enjoyed reading the bad and the good - you really had the extremes of each! I met my second husband online also and you have inspired me to write about that experience. We are divorced now but their were some good times and I choose to remember them. Cricket

~~ Hi Selma, Welcome to Slice of Life Sunday. You have written a very interesting story, and a definite slice of life everyone can relate to - choosing between your principles and your heart. Well done . . . on both your story and your choice! Cricket

Better late than never! I just posted my slumber party slice of life. Please remember - I was a 7th grade cheerleader - and not the sharpest tack in the box!

I tried to use the Mr Linky. It didn’t work. =(
I’m so glad I found you. Thanks for leaving me an invitation. I have chosen to write about forbidden love - a story I would not have told without your prompt. I hope you enjoy it. -Eve

Hi, my slice of life is about meeting my in-laws…two sets of them!
~~Hi Irishcoda, My heart went out to you and your hubby as I could just picture the two of you sitting on the floor of his boyhood bedroom trying to get a handle on the death of his mother. Isn’t it amazing how God can take something so horrible and make something so wonderful come from the ashes! Cricket
