Slice of Life - week 7
You are more than welcome to submit your Slice of Life story on any or all of the following prompts even though they are from a past week post. As a writer, I know I do my best writing when I write about a prompt that “gets to me” instead of forcing a write on a specific prompt during a specific time frame.
Slice of Life choices for the week of May 4, 2008 were:
1. Sister.
2. Family homestead.
3. Grandchild/grandchildren.
Once you have posted your Slice of Life Sunday story on your blog, come back and leave a comment with the url to your post. My true desire is for each of us to harvest wisdom from both the joy of reliving the good memories in our lives and the strength gained from gleening what we can from the not-so-good memories and then putting them away for good. If you see a previous prompt you would like to write about, please do so and let me know.

I can’t believe I’m first. I wrote about my sister this week.
~~ Hi Eve, I so enjoyed reading about a healthy sister relationship, and I do envy you. I have two sisters and we are not now or ever was very close. I am so fortunate that I had such good friends growing up and in adulthood. Cricket

I can’t seem to make Mr. Linky work today. It keeps telling me “Membership violation.
~~ Yes, thank you for pointing it out. I have emailed Mister Linky again and they are trying to figure out the problem. Cricket

I’m not sure if this will qualify, but I figured I’d go ahead and give it a try. In March I wrote a blog entry about our family homestead. As it turns out, this week my grandmother is moving out, and the home will officially be sold. While this week is certain to be challenging for our family, I would love it if others could see my photos and read about a place that has meant so much to so many.

Thank you, Tanya
~~Hi Tanya, Such an amazing home your great-grandfather built - it had to have been a very difficult decision for your grandmother to move and heartbreaking for the entire family to give-up the family homestead. Thank you for sharing. Cricket

~~Hi Selma, I enjoyed learning the history of your family homestead. I was never interested in history until about ten years ago. I have much catching up to do and I appreciate the links to getting the background. And, you are welcome to write about any prompt at any time. Cricket

Hi, I am SO far behind! Today I posted about being a grandparent and now it’s on to the next series of topics!
~~Hi Irishcoda, No worries dear friend, I am even more behind! I agree - grandchildren are the best, and I too want to be a good grandma! Cricket
