Easter Sunday

Remember Easter when you were a kid?

I certainly do….. A new Easter bonnet, decorated with fabric flowers and ribbons and pretty new dress (my mom was a fantastic seamstress) were both givens.

A beautiful Easter lily, adorning the Easter dinner table. Gorgeous decorated baskets full of colorful and delish treats.

Best of all, ‘giant’ (or so they seemed then   ;)  ) solid bunnies made from the most scrumptious of chocolate, arriving every year from my dear grandmother Sabina, who lived in Winnipeg.

What are some of your favorite Easter memories? What traditions have you carried on in your own family?

Such a special time of year, in so many, many ways.

Wishing you a bountiful, safe and blessed Easter.

Easter Sunday.

Easter Sunday is a time for pink and yellow frilly dresses, white gloves, and shiney shoes. I really can’t pinpoint one particular memory for Easter Sunday. At our house, the day begins with the boys hunting for eggs while Hubby and I search for the ones the cat played with in the middle of the night. Then we wake up while the boys eat chocolate for breakfast.

We take time to read and pray about Jesus and the true meaning of Easter. After that, we get the boys showered and ready for Easter Dinner at Grandma and Grandpa’s house.
Hubby and I take turns napping from being woken up at dawn from the boys. We have our showers than off to the inlaws for Easter Diner.

That woman sure can cook! We always have an awesome meal and then after supper, the boys are always surprised that the Easter Bunny visited there also. They get tonnes of stuff given to them, along with their cousin and the three children sit on the floor and compare goodies.
That’s it for most Easter’s for us. Once we lived far away and we decided not to come back for Easter Diner. We were very bored and decided not to miss again. Not sure what’s going to happen next year for Easter. It will depend if we’re living here or not.
