Wikipedia defines a slice of life story as “a category for a story that portrays a “cut-out” sequence of events in a character’s life.” It has also been defined as an “episode of actual experience represented realistically and with little alteration in a dramatic, fictional, or journalistic work.” (cp. Like having ice cream with your pie, there is more to this meme than meets the eye – it’s a meme a` la mode! This meme has a larger goal in mind in addition to providing a venue for your desire to write. Close your eyes and turn off your connections with the current world around you, and allow your thoughts to wander through the recesses of your memories. There you will find a life experience that you have been waiting to share or possibly need to revisit. Now write it.
