I want to apologize for not making this post sooner. My life has been turned up side down, with both wonderful and not so great happenings. My father was very ill in February and then both of my sisters were placed in a nursing home the first part of March.
Just before all the chaos began, I had sent in a manuscript for Slices of Our Lives to the agent who had expressed interest and received a reply that they wanted me to consider doing two chapters of a creative nonfiction approach of my personal slices of life. I sent that in and have just received word they are definitely interested in signing me to a contract for a trilogy (I also had to provide an outline of how I would present my story and I decided to go large!). We are meeting on April 30 with my attorney to finalize details.
In addition to everything else, I have been looking for employment and have had several interviews the past two weeks. I am hoping to be offered a position next week, which will add a whole dimension to my life. Unfortuanately, I am always running out of time every day as it is and have not been able to keep up Slices Of Life Sunday. A real job is going to lesson any time I do have to write and do things I enjoy.
Words can not express how much it has meant to me to have you participate this past year. If my life gets back on to some kind of a schedule, I will start back up again.
For those of you who enjoy writing prompts, I would strongly encourage you to check out Search Engine Stories. Selma, from Selma in the City, began this a few months ago. She provides such interesting prompts each week on Friday. I hope to continue participating when I can.
Again, thank you all for your support and encouragement. Cricket
